Alan P. Kramer

October 25, 1949 — March 6, 2017

Alan P. Kramer, 67, a longtime Mooresville, IN resident, died on March 6th. The widower of the Nancy Haymaker Kramer, he was born in Renton, WA, moved with his family to Glen Riddle, PA in 1963, and graduated from Penn Crest High School in 1967. He attended Purdue University where he earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1972. During his time at Purdue, he married Nancy and they and their son Jeffrey L. moved to Mooresville in 1974.

Alan worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation for 31 years. A licensed surveyor, he specialized in land acquisition. He also operated his own land surveying firm in Mooresville. After retiring from INDOT, he worked briefly for V & S Engineering in Indianapolis.

Alan was also active in the Mooresville community serving over three decades on the Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals. He and Nancy assisted with the show choirs at Mooresville High School, served on the board of the Handicapable Camp for many years, and he was the current President of the Mooresville Lions Club receiving the Lion of the Year recognition for 2014-2015.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jerome M. and Norma Robinson Kramer, and his wife Nancy. He is survived by his two sisters, Marsha Scanlan (David) of Virginia and Janis Zane (Dennis) of Pennsylvania . His son Jeff (Tracy), Phd., and grandson Paul M live in Independence, Kentucky. Surviving extended family includes his brother-in-law Randy Haymaker (Joan) and sister-in-laws Beverly Beikman (Joe) of Mooresville, and Shelley Kelly (Michael) of Bargersville.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Alan P. Kramer from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017 in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Waverly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Banta United Methodist Church, Mooresville Churches in Mission, and the Indiana Lions Eyebank.
