Brian Wayne Vance

March 24, 1966 — April 12, 2017

Brian Wayne Vance, 51, of Mooresville, passed away unexpectedly while at work on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Born March 24, 1966 in Madison, Indiana, Brian was the son of the late Bill Vance and Betty Jean (Sallee) Vance. On May 31, 1986 at Open Door Baptist Church in Deputy, Indiana, Brian was united in marriage to his loving wife, Nancy (Buxton) Vance.

Born and raised in Madison, Indiana he was a 1984 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School where he enjoyed playing basketball, football, and singing and playing music in a band. After high school, Brian attended Ball State University. He was a proud graduate of ITT Technical Institute with an associate’s degree in electrical engineering and later, received his bachelor's degree in business management from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Hardworking, passionate about his work, and an excellent provider for his family, Brian worked at UPS from 1985 until 1987. In 1987 he began a successful 25 year career with PSI/Duke Energy; in 2012 he began running a personal consulting business. In 2013 he started working for Ubisense where he spent 3 years. Brian especially enjoyed working in the utility fields for K & L Excavating where he started working in January of 2017 until this past Wednesday, when Brian was so suddenly taken from this life to Eternal Life on the job, after a hard day of work in the field.

A loving husband and father, he continually put the needs of his family above his own. Always giving of himself to others, Brian was willing to help anyone in their time of need. A man of faith, and compassion, he and his family regularly attended and were members of Gracepoint Church in Whiteland, Indiana. He loved golfing, playing music, skeet shooting, and watching movies.
Along with his father, Bill Vance, Brian is also preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Dale Vance and his brother-in-law, Neil Lyle.

Vance; his mother, Betty Jean Vance-Welsh and his step-father, Art Welsh both of North Vernon; three children, Jacob W., Joel M., and Alyson Lea Vance all of Mooresville; two sisters, Patricia Turner (Husband: Billy) of Madison and Pam Lyle of Evansville; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and colleagues.
