Bruce E. Keen

April 4, 1940 — December 8, 2016

Bruce E. Keen, 76, Martinsville, passed away December 8, 2016, in the Emergency Room at IU Health – Morgan Hospital. Bruce was born April 4, 1940, in Scottsville, Kentucky, to the late Jasper Keen and Flora (Holland) McGuffey.

He graduated from Ben Davis High School and attended the University of Indianapolis. Bruce proudly served in the United States Navy. He worked in production control 22 years for the Allison Division of General Motors, retiring in 1993. Bruce was a member of the Martinsville Church of God. He was an avid wood worker and enjoyed making bird houses, restoring antique furniture, and making anything with a nautical theme. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be fondly remembered by his loving family.

Bruce was preceded in death by one daughter, Marcia Cooper.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy (Frye) Keen, to whom he was united in marriage on October 28, 1961; daughters, Faith Sparks (Bill) of Martinsville and Kimberly Leach (Alan) of Sidney, Ohio; sister, Bertha Tyree (Floyd) of Mooresville; brother, Owen Keen (Edna) of Kentucky; grandchildren, Alexis Moore (Jon), Sarah Richardson (Shane), Cassandra Donges, Joseph Cooper, Timothy Sparks, Matthew Leach, and Rachel Leach; great grandchildren, Gavin Richardson, Torren Richardson, Piper Donges, Trinity Richardson, Finnegan Moore, Leon Donges, and Naomi Moore.

Friends and family will gather on Sunday, December 11, 2016, 5 to 8 p.m. in the fellowship hall at the Martinsville Church of God, 1396 E. Columbus St., Martinsville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2016, in the sanctuary at the church. Burial with military honors will follow in the White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
