Donald B. Sims

Donald B. Sims, 88, Waverly, passed away September 20, 2018. Mr. Sims was born April 8, 1930, in Batesville, Indiana.

He attended Center Grove High School and worked 30 years for the Allison Division of General Motors, retiring in 1980. Following his retirement, he stayed busy digging wells. Don enjoyed being outdoors, country music, camping, and was a great dancer. He also took great pride in caring for his yard. He will be fondly remembered for his kind and gentle manner.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Vada Huddleston and two brothers, Chester and Earl Sims; one granddaughter, Lisa.

Survivors include his wife, Anna (Scott) Sims; sons, Donald E. Sims and Bradley J. Sims; daughters, Deborah Cox, Rebecca Engleman, Sue Ellen Barnett, Linda Betts, Donna Dick, and Tina Lowe; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.

Friends and family will gather on Sunday, September 23, 2018, 2 to 6 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, September 24, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Waverly.
