Gary N. Calvert
68, of Beech Grove, passed away on August 14, 2022. Gary was born on July 27, 1954, in Lebanon, Indiana to Doran Calvert and Mary (Johns) Calvert.

Gary worked as a carpenter in construction and later worked for Eli Lilly & Company for 17 years, before retiring from Kerry Limo Service after 16 years of service. Gary enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was on his front porch watching the birds, sitting by a bonfire, wetting a line at his favorite fishing spot, or listening to blues music (extremely loud), that’s where he would find peace. He will be remembered for his kind, loving heart that was always willing to help anyone in need, often taking in those who were homeless or less fortunate to help them until they could get back on their feet.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Calvert, as well as his beloved Labradoodle, Brody, who passed in April.

He is survived by his children, Raina (Jason) Cox, Danielle Calvert, Andrew (Ashley) Calvert; father Doran Calvert; brother David Calvert; sister Susan Rawlings; grandchildren Rionna, Jada, Sophia, Avery, Amelia and great grandchildren Ezra, and Noah.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at a later date.
