James O. Garrison

James O. Garrison, 83, Mooresville, passed away July 27, 2018. Mr. Garrison was born August 28, 1934, in Greenville, South Carolina, to the late Fred and Nora (Green) Garrison.

A natural for all things mechanical, Jim flourished in his career from an early age. He was the co-owner of Garrison & Lee Auto Service in Greenville for many years. When he relocated to Indiana, he was employed at several auto dealerships. He was with Bud Gates Chevrolet for many years as the service manager. He was also heavily involved at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as a chief mechanic. He later worked in horse racing as a trainer and was honored as the Trainer of Year in 2010 at Indiana Downs. Through the years, he excelled as a professional Putt-Putt golfer. He loved all kinds of sports and could often be found on the sidelines of this grandchildren’s sporting events. Jim will be fondly remembered for his loving and kind ways.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by great grandchildren, Chad and Chandler; brother-in-law, John Lee.

Survivors include his daughters, Jean Brewer of Plainfield and Karen (Randall) Ison of Camby; sisters, Jeannette Lee of Noblesville, Patsy (Paul) Garrison of Indianapolis, and Rita Ann (Scott) Seal of Virginia; brother, Freddie Garrison of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Bobby (Kari) Schuster, Ryan (Wendy) Ison, Aaron Ison, and Chad (Kristi) Ison; great grandchildren, Brianna, Victoria, Isabel, Jenna, Alex, Carson, R.J., Colton, and Cole.

The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, in the chapel at
