Jessica Barbara Eastridge

Jessica Barbara Eastridge, 88, Indianapolis, passed away May 31, 2018. Mrs. Eastridge was born September 16, 1929, in Indianapolis to the late Gerry Louis and Bertha Marie (Cain) Spragg. She was married to the late Irvin J. Eastridge for more than 40 years.

Jessica graduated from St. John Academy and continued her education at Indiana University. She was the school librarian and founder of the Learning Center at St. Luke Catholic School, which was later renamed the Jessica Eastridge Learning Center in honor of her passion for enriching the lives of children. Jessica volunteered with the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, and was an active parishioner at St. Luke. An avid reader and lifetime learner, she also appreciated poetry, sewing, and cooking. Above all, Jessica was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, and grandmother as well as a devout Catholic.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Cain Eastridge; sisters, Rosemary Spragg and Jacqueline Thanner.

Survivors include her children, Timothy Eastridge, Nicholas (Katie) Eastridge, Ann Eastridge (Wes) Ray, Milicent (Mark) Ciresi, and Gerry Eastridge; sisters, Patricia Scherer, Milicent Nuebel, and Alexa O’Neil; brother, Gerry (Judy) Spragg; grandchildren, John Eastridge, David Eastridge, Colette Ciresi, Natalie Ciresi, Jessica Eastridge, Tyler Ray, and Rosalee Ray.

The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2018, in St. Luke Catholic Church, 7575 Holliday Dr. E., with visitation there from 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
