Lola "Mammy" Dye Miller

June 3, 1922 — October 2, 2014

Lola “Mammy” Dye Miller, 92, Glencoe, Kentucky, died October 2, 2014, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Mooresville, Indiana. Mrs. Miller was born June 3, 1922, in Blanche, Kentucky, to the late Augustus and Creasy (Bailey) Smith.

She attended Bell County High School. In addition to raising her children and being a mother figure to many in her extended family, Mammy was the director of the Pineville Senior Center for many years. She had been a member of the Arjay Baptist Church and more recently Sparta Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, and was an excellent cook.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alex Dye and her second husband, Raymond Miller; brother, Walter Smith; sister, Frances Smith; half-brothers, Arnold and Dan Smith.

Survivors include a son, Lee Dye (Geraldine) of Indianapolis; daughter, Alice Faye Napier (Carl) of Greenwood; 8 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014, 4 to 8 p.m., in Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home, 108 East Main Street, Warsaw, Kentucky. The graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014, 1 p.m., at Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, Kentucky.
