Mary Ellen Arnold

August 10, 1933 — March 4, 2017

Mary Ellen Arnold, daughter of Hubert and Alice Mason. Born on August 10, 1933, left us on March 4, 2017 to be with her Lord. She will be, and already is Greatly Missed, by her loved ones.

Her life here on the earth was one of Joy and Laughter, Loving and Giving, and Praise for her Lord. If you are one of the many, many who knew her, you know how your life has been touched by being a part of hers.

Her love for the Lord, her faith in Him, her devotion to Him, is an inspiration to each of us, and is something we will continue to carry with us throughout our days.

She was blessed to have grown up in a large and close-knit family. She had five brothers and four sisters: Barbara (Kenny) Hunt, Paulin (Ray) Sturgeon, Russ Mason, Wanda (Dick) West, Carrie (Jim) Spurgeon, David (Judy) Mason, Joe (Sandy) Mason, Charlie (Donna) Mason, and Earl Mason.

Mary has joined her parents and Russ, Wanda, and David. She has left Barbara, Pauline, Carrie, Joe, Charlie, and Earl, for a little while.

She married her childhood sweetheart, the late Robert L. Arnold.

They had two children, Joyce (Dan) Stupecki and Karl (Kim) Arnold, who gave them three grandchildren, Cindy (Clay) Cruse Steve (Elena) Fishel, and Robert Arnold, who gave them four great grandsons, Zach (Courtney) Cruse, Taylor Cruse, Matt Cruse, and Collin Fishel.

Mary thoroughly enjoyed her life here. She did not take her blessings from the Lord for granted. She enjoyed and was thankful for each one.

Mushroom hunting, walking in the woods, feeding the birds, and trying to outwit the squirrels gave her great pleasure. She liked her quiet times, watching the birds, and listening to their songs, peacefully enjoying these blessings from the Lord.

She enjoyed junk shops and garage sales with her sisters. She painted in oils, quilted, did word and jig saw puzzles, spoiled her cat, rarely threw anything away because she could repurpose it.

Mushroom hunting was an all day event, with sack lunches eaten in the woods. She never came back with an empty bag, and her mushroom bag was always the fullest. She would do a pre-hunt so that her grandsons always found mushrooms, all by themselves.

Her family was so very important to her. The get-togethers that she would talk about until the next one, the jokes and laughter, the hard work, she loved every moment, she lived every moment.

Her heart was absolutely huge, if someone had a need, and she knew about it, it was doen. She put everyone above herself.

Above all, her love for the Lord is what stood out most in her character, in her love, and in her friendships.

Manny, many years ago, she gave a Bible to someone, in it she had written these words: Always speak kind words, and you will always hear kind echoes.

The Lord has blessed us greatly, through her, God bless you Mary, you are, and always will be a Blessing to us all.
