Mitchell J. "Mitch" Mann

Mitchell J. Mann, 52, of Camby, passed away Tuesday, August, 29, 2017 in the comfort of his home after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born March 9, 1965 in Indianapolis, Mitch was the son of Clifford and Roberta (Murray) Mann; his parents preceded him in death. On December 22, 1990 he was united in marriage to Betty J. (Mong) Mann.

Mitch worked as a heavy equipment operator for Daming Excavating in Beech Grove for 26 years. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, camping, mushroom hunting, and, most recently, spending all of his time outside. On August 20, 2009 Mitch and Betty proudly welcomed their first and only grandchild into their lives; Annabelle M. Mong was truly the apple of his eye. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Mitch’s memory will be cherished by his loving family and countless friends.

Along with his parents, Mitch was also preceded in death by his brother, Marlon Mann.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Betty Mann; his son, Derek S. (Tosha) Mong of Mooresville; his granddaughter, Annabelle M. Mong also of Mooresville; two brothers, Mike (Tammy) Mann of Indianapolis, and Marty (Elaine) Mann of Mooresville; two sisters, Melanee Grubbs of Mooresville, and Michele (Johnny) Ballard of Brownsburg; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Mitchell J. Mann from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
