Opal L. "Vonnie" Gibson

Opal L. “Vonnie” Gibson, 64, of Mooresville, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Miller’s Senior Living in Mooresville. One of 13 children born to Samuel and Mary E. (Phillips) Gibson,
Vonnie was born July 27, 1952 in Martinsville; her parents preceded her in death.

Vonnie was a loving caregiver to many children for many years and was a faithful member of Waverly Chapel. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Jeremy D. Gibson; her siblings, Dorothy May McGown, Charles Gibson, Dorothy Irene Foley, Henry Gibson, Ruth Sterrett, Samuel Gibson, Thomas Gibson, Kenneth Gibson, Martha Jane Gibson, and Harry Donald Gibson.

Survivors include her brother, Robert Gibson of Bloomington; two sisters, Dessie Wallace of Indianapolis, and Charlotte Bowman of Attica; her niece and caregiver, Janet L. Zimmerman of Mooresville; many other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Waverly. Final care and arrangements for cremation and burial are entrusted to the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville.
