Charles E. Hahn

Charles E. Hahn, 66, of Nineveh died on Wednesday surrounded by his family, November 6, 2013. He was born on December 11, 1946 in Indianapolis to the late Ernest and Mary Hahn.

Charles graduated from Sacred Heart Central High School in 1965 before being drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict in 1967 where he fought during the TET offensive. From 1967 until 2006 Charles made his career in the Army, retiring as a heavy duty machinery engineer. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for 46 years, the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans, Vietnam Veterans Association, the Retired Military Veterans Association, COOTIS, the Moose Lodge, the Elks Lodge, the Eagles Lodge. He was an avid bowler and Colts fan, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.He married his life-long friend Donna Williams in 2007. He and his wife Donna were members of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh, IN where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was known for his hearty laugh and loud voice. He will be missed by many who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 6 years, Donna Williams; his 6 children; Kenneth Human ( Teresa) of Roachdale, Linda Human Searles ( Larry) of Fillmore, Tim Williams ( Dawn) of Coatesville, Jenny Williams Chamness ( Don) of Avon, Ron Human( Valerie) of Roachdale and Colleen Human Shew of Mooresville. He is also survived by his 25 grandchildren ( 22 beautiful granddaughters and 3 grandsons) and 17 great grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 12 NOON, Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 100 Keeley St, Edinburgh, IN 46124, with Father John Beitans as celebrant. There will also be a memorial service held at the Mooresville VFW Post 1111 at 12:30 PM on Monday, November 11, 2013.Arrangements entrusted to Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory.

Contributions may be made to Veteran and Family Services through the VFW.
