Dallas I. "Toby" Poe

Dallas I. 'Toby' Poe, 78, longtime Mooresville resident, died March 7, 2012, in the Morgantown Healthcare Inn. Mr. Poe was born one of eight children to Glen, Sr. and Emma Frances (McCreary) Poe on January 1, 1934.

He proudly served in the United States Army and was a member of the Mooresville American Legion Post #103 and the Mooresville VFW Post #1111. He worked for a number of years for Chevrolet and later for Hillman Bait and Tackle.

Toby was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond, Donald, and Glen Poe, Jr.; sisters, Bernadine Ernest, Loretta Poe, Evon Alma Duncan, and Della Sawyer. Survivors include a son, Bobby Poe and an extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will not be observed. A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012, in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
