Donna Mae Barnett

Donna Mae Barnett, 81, long time resident of Mooresville, passed away peacefully February 17, 2019. Donna was born September 21, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Hadley and Sallie (Vest) Flint.

Donna attended Washington High School and continued her education at Indiana Central University and Butler University receiving her Master’s Degree in Education. Mrs. Barnett taught for 39 years at Maplewood Elementary. She was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association and a long time member at First Baptist Church of Mooresville. Donna enjoyed to American Civil War History, traveling, reading, sewing, but most of all spending time with her family. Donna’s great sense of humor will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Donnie Barnett; brothers, James, Wilson, Lloyd, and Emory.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mark (Sheryl) Barnett and Dr. Ann Ragin (David); grandchildren, Andrew (Renee) Ragin, Kelsey (Logan) Holleman, and Nathan Barnett; one great grandchild, Felix Holleman; and a sister, Julia Gibbs.

Friends and family will gather on Thursday, February 21, 2019, 5 to 8 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2019, at First Baptist Church, Mooresville. Burial will follow at White Lick Cemetery.
