Eugene V. Brodie

Eugene V. Brodie, 80, of Plainfield, passed away at IU Health West Hospital on August 15, 2019. He was born December 25, 1938, in Sullivan, Indiana, to the late Neville and Ruth (Robertson) Brodie. Gene married the love of his life Beverly Booker on August 27, 1961; who still survives.

Gene received his Master’s degree from Indiana State University. He taught math at Lebanon, Bicknell, Paoli, and Plainfield over the years until retiring in May of 1994. Gene was very active in the after school sports whether it be selling tickets or running the scoreboard for over 40 years at Plainfield High School. He was an elder and treasurer at South Central Church of Christ. Gene also enjoyed cars but especially spending time with his family. He is going to be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Plainfield; son Curtis (Lisa) Brodie of Silverhill, Alabama; daughters, Angela (Scott) Roper of Brownsburg and Dawn (Todd) Russell of Pittsboro; grandchildren, Dakota (Emilee), Channing, Molly, Jenna, Julia, Erin, Eli, Katie (Frank), and Jake; and one great grandchild, Zara.

A celebration of life for Eugene V. Brodie will be on Sunday, August 18, 2019 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at South Central Church of Christ: 265 E Southport Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
