Geraldine Grace

Geraldine (Couch) Grace, 83, Camby, passed away peacefully at home September 16, 2022. Mrs. Grace was born August 27, 1939, in Hazard, Kentucky, to the last Willie and Mae (Carnahan) Couch. She married the late Doyle C. Grace on July 14, 1958, and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2007.

She graduated from Decatur Central High School and worked for 25 years at Western Electric until her retirement when the company closed. Mrs. Grace was an avid reader, having read 100s of Harlequin Romance novels. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles. A talented cook and baker, you never wanted to miss a meal or sweats that came out of Geraldine’s kitchen! From fried chicken to French apple pie to peanut butter fudge, she knew how to show her love through cooking for family and friends. Her family was very important to her – she was very much a mother figure to her siblings. She also delighted in showering her grandchildren and great grandchildren with special gifts and trips to the movies. Geraldine’s memory will be forever cherished by her loving family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Couch and a brother-in-law, Dwayne Botts.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Melissa) Grace and Mark (Rosa) Grace; sisters, Glad Botts, Jan (Bill) Ferguson, and Geneva Campbell; grandchildren, Melanie Wagner, Misty Vega, Matthew Grace, Aiden Grace, and Amanda Grace; great grandchildren, Emma, Jasmine, Johanna, Kara, Grant, Brantley, and Jaxon.

Geraldine’s Life Celebration® visitation and funeral service will be held at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2022, with services following at 1 p.m. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
