Harold E. Weddle, 81, Camby, passed away February 3, 2016, in St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis. Mr. Weddle was born December 8, 1934, in Mooresville, to the late Hubert and Clara (Lee) Weddle.
A lifelong resident of Mooresville, Harold graduated from Mooresville High School in 1953. He was the owner and operator of Weddle TV & Appliance for 41 years, retiring in 1999. Harold was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, where he served on various committees and as a trustee. He was a former member of the Mooresville Kiwanis Club and had been the Cub Scout Master of Troop 230. He enjoyed golfing, camping trips with his family, woodworking, and watching college basketball. Above all, Harold was a devoted family man. A kind and gentle man, he will be remembered by a loving family and many friends.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Thelma (Blaschke) Weddle, to whom he was united in marriage September 14, 1956; sons, Mark (Teri), Doug (Tonya), Paul (Dedra), all of Mooresville; grandchildren, Angela, Ben, Derek, Jeremy (Amber), Bryan (Amber), and Abigail; great grandchildren, Jackson and Owen.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Harold E. Weddle on Friday, February 5, 2016, 3 to 8 p.m., in the First United Methodist Church, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016, in the church. Burial will follow in West Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
