John L. Mowery

John L. Mowery, 71, Lexington, South Carolina, passed away November 30, 2018. Mr. Mowery was born October 30, 1947, in Greencastle, to the late Lloyd and Lena (Everhart) Mowery.

John graduated from Mooresville High School in 1965 and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a general contractor for many years. He was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed being a part of the Midlands Astronomy Club in South Carolina.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Merritt of Avon; son Alex (Jessica) Mowery of South Carolina; grandchildren, Chloe, Ty, and Hadley.

The graveside service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018, 11 a.m., in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Visitation hours will not be observed.
