Karen S. Guthrie

Karen S. Guthrie, 68, Mooresville, died suddenly at home September 20, 2014. Karen was born December 1, 1945, in Indianapolis, the youngest child of the late Oscar and Arva Louise (Traylor) Wise.

She graduated from Mooresville High School in 1964. Karen retired from IU Health in 2011, where she enjoyed a career in the accounting department that spanned more than 40 years. A loving and caring mother and grandmother, she will be missed by her loving family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sister, Juanita Loomis and Dolores Hatch.

Survivors include her children, Chris Guthrie (Laurie) of San Diego, California and Heather Ramey (Ken) of Greenwood; brother, Ron Wise of Greenwood; sister, Donna Mills of Greenwood; grandchildren, Kyle and Krysta Ramey; Karlene Guthrie; former spouse, Howard Guthrie of Martinsville.

Friends and family will gather Wednesday, September 24, 2014, 4 to 8 p.m., in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Pastor Terry Crist will officiate the service on Thursday, September 25, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service at the Morgan County Crematory, Mooresville.
