Kay Ellen Archer
73, of Plainfield, passed away on December 15, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family. Kay was born on January 3, 1948 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late William Paul Paddock and Gayle (Smith) Paddock.
Kay worked as a legal secretary for PSI/Duke Energy for many years. She enjoyed family get togethers, cooking, hanging out with friends, loved being the matriarch as well as being in Facebook Jail, but most of all she loved being a Nana. She will be remembered as a feisty, opinionated, kind, selfless, loving lady, who was the life of the party and was always there for her family. She will be missed by a loving family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Mary Lou Owen, Phyllis Bryant, Martha Mae Starkey, and Lois Day.
She is survived by her sons Carl Archer, Bryan Archer; sister Linda Friday; grandchildren Brittany Archer, Kyleigh Archer, Kennedy Archer, Chelsea Schiewer, Alexis Jones, Zachery Archer, Madison Archer; great grandchildren Daisy Ray, Nova Mae; nieces Deb Day, Kris Day, Sheila Tubbs, Cheryl Houshour, Leslie Ritsmon, Melinda Upchurch, Beverly Starkey; nephews Mike Owen and John Friday.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate Kay’s life on Monday, December 27th from 4-7pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with memorial services beginning at 7pm Monday in the funeral home.
