Lawrence W. “Moe” Carter, 69, Mooresville, died October 13, 2014, in the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, Indianapolis. Mr. Carter was born December 1, 1944, in Indianapolis, to the late James W. Carter and Helen M. (Coghill) Fullen.
He attended high school in Indianapolis. Mr. Carter proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. A decorated war hero, he was a life member of the Mooresville American Legion Post 103, the Mooresville VFW Post 1111, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of the Mooresville Eagles. He worked for Automotive Armature for 25 years, retiring in 1991.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Carter; sisters, Marquetta Handy, Elois Baker, and Darlene Hall.
Survivors include a brother, James D. Carter of High Point, NC and a sister, Alberta Carter Janik of Greenwood; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2014, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. Military honors will be conducted by the Mooresville Honor Guard.
