Lonny D. Dilley

Services for Lonny D. Dilley, 66, Mooresville, will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, from 3 until 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis. Mr. Dilley died November 29, 2014, at Eskanzi Hospital, Indianapolis.

Lonny Dilley was born October 7, 1948, in Indianapolis to the late Robert and Helen (Davee) Dilley. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed a 33 year career at General Motors. Mr. Dilley was a member of Eternal Life Baptist Church and served on the Brown Township Fire Department for eleven years. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He could fix anything and was an accomplished woodworker. Above all, Lonny loved his family, never missing a ballgame and always spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren. Lonny will be remembered by all the loving family and friends he leaves behind.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Dilley and a sister, Marsha Kinsler.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Gourley) Dilley, to whom he was united in marriage August 16, 1968; children, BeLinda Landrum of Mooresville, Lonny S. Dilley of Andrews, and Brian Dilley of Mooresville; brothers, Ron Dilley (Brenda) of Greenwood, Russell Dilley (Rhonda) of Indianapolis; sisters, Donna Hopkins (Chuck) of Arizona, Gloria Hopkins (Bud) of Mooresville, Carla Everson (Tom) of Noblesville, Karen Mittendorf (Mike) of Martinsville, Dawn Andrews of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Matthew and Brittany Dilley; Robert and Jonathon Dilley; Reba Landrum.
