Loren Wright

91, of Mooresville, passed away after a long illness on September 10, 2017. Loren was born on March 6, 1926 in Owen County, Indiana to the late Paul and Beulah (Fullen) Wright.

Loren proudly and honorably served his country in the US Army, during World War II. After service, he worked for General Motors Allison as a carpenter for 32 and a half years, retiring in 1983.

Loren married Joanna (Williams) Wright on July 1, 1946 and recently celebrated 71 years of marriage together! Loren was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Mooresville for many years, but more recently was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Mooresville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter; Carla Towsley and two brothers; Harold and Arthur Wright.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joanna (Williams) Wright, a daughter; Cheryl Markey and her husband Bill of Mooresville, a son; Richard Wright and his wife Pam of Crawfordsville, a sister; Ruth Staum of Mooresville, five grandchildren; Angela Shoemaker, Cindy McGary, Sandra McCollough, Richard Wright II, Kurt Townsley and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday Sept. 14th from 4-8pm in Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Funeral services will be held Friday Sept. 15th at 11:00am at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the services in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville, with military honors.
