Marcie A. Young

Marcie A. Young, 72, Mooresville, died peacefully on December 12, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Marcie was born February 2, 1940, in Noblesville, to the late Lawrence and Mary (Conley) Darrah.

She graduated from Noblesville High School in 1958 and later from the Harry G. Wood Technical College, where she studied to be a dental assistant. Marcie worked as a dental assistant and also as a Tupperware Manager and Dealer for eleven years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was active with the Walk to Emmaus. Marcie was also a former board member of the Lucille Raines Residence, member of the Bayview Club and the Mooresville Cancer Support Group. An avid Rageddy Ann and Andy enthusiast, Marcie enjoyed amassing a very impressive collection through the years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Darrah and a sister, Bettie Wolfe.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Gene Young, to whom she was united in marriage June 12, 1960; children, Chief Master Sergeant Scott Young, USAF Retired and his wife Debbie of Louisiana, Vicki Young McGavran and her husband Don of Salatiga, Indonesia, and Troy Young and his wife Theresa of Avon; brother, Bob Darrah (Jessie) of Pendleton; seven grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2012, in the First United Methodist Church, 900 N. Indianapolis Rd., Mooresville. Friends may call at the church on Monday, December 17, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. Private burial will be in Crownland Cemetery, Noblesville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lucille Raines Residence. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
