Margaret Esther Perry

Margaret Esther Perry, 84, Martinsville, passed away the morning of January 8, 2013, in Grandview Healthcare, Martinsville. She was born June 17, 1928, in Plainfield, to the late Roy Clifford and Annie Jane (McGinnis) Hilt.

Margaret Perry was a very thoughtful person and was most known as a giver. She raised 14 children, several grandchildren, and also worked as a secretary for Wells Springs. She enjoyed playing cards, with poker being her favorite game. Mrs. Perry was a very talented cook. In her spare time she also enjoyed fishing, working puzzles, and watching baseball games.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Eugene Perry, to whom she was united in marriage on May 31, 1947; children, Belinda Jo Perry, Homer Perry and Pamela (Perry) Cherry; brothers, Russell and Ed Hilt, sisters, Mary Goble, Helen Short, Betty Hamilton, and Shirley Mull; grandson, Rocky Burke; granddaughter, Hope (Dinky) Perry, great granddaughter, Brittney Perry.

Survivors include her children, Jerry (Brenda) Perry, Brenda Myers, Janice (Jerry) Ham, Roy (Loretta) Perry, Kenny (Debby) Perry, Tracy Perry, Debbie (Donald) Forester all of Martinsville, Rex (Dianna) Perry of Indianapolis, Carol (Herb) Burke of Georgia, Alan Perry of Mooresville, Rita Watkins of Alabama; sister, Louis Mitchell of Martinsville; many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson.


Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2012, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. A time for sharing memories will begin at 1 p.m., on Saturday.
