Mary F. Parnell

Mary F. Parnell, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at her home. Born April 22, 1937 in Tuckerman, Arkansas, Mary was the daughter of the late Luther Woodruff and Ruthie (Malone) Thomas. Mary was united in marriage to her loving husband, Howard Parnell and he preceded her in death on November 20, 2013.

Mary worked as a book binder at Rand McNally in Indianapolis for many years; she retired in 1999. A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her precious grandchildren.

Her sister, Barbara Owens also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her four children, Bobby (Linda) Roach of Indianapolis; Dorothy (Ralph) Lisby of Indianapolis, Ruth (John) Jones of Indianapolis, and Mary E. Allen of Washington; four brothers, H.B. Woodruff of Jamestown, KY, Vernon Woodruff of Indianapolis, Jerry Woodruff of Indianapolis, and Wayne Woodruff of Scottsville, KY; three sisters, Betty Jean Stewart of Indianapolis, Patsy C. Leavell of Indianapolis, and Kay Allison of Paragon; 13 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Mary F. Parnell from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall.
