Maxine Williams

Maxine Williams, 84, Mooresville, passed away January 20, 2022. Mrs. Williams was born August 5, 1937, in York, South Carolina, to the late John Dillard and Gracie (Crisp) Ricks.

She graduated from high school in York, South Carolina. She met her husband, Fred Williams, while roller skating in Indianapolis. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage that brought the joy of three sons and seven grandchildren. Maxine enjoyed gardening and caring for her home and her family. She and Fred spent a number of winters in Florida to escape the Indiana snow. Maxine will be fondly remembered by a loving family and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest son, James D. Williams; two brothers, John and Earl Ricks; sister, Marian Brandon.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Fred Williams; sons, Fred, Jr. (Judy) and John (Jennifer) Williams; brother, Doug Ricks; grandchildren, Robbie, Gabe, Nathan, Alexandria, Brittney, Ashley, and Hayley.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 29, 2022, 2 to 4 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
