Nellie V. Bailey

Nellie V. Bailey, 87, Mooresville, died July 18, 2011, in St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove. She was born February 10, 1924, in Warren County, Kentucky, to the late John Hamer and Zelma Beckham.

Nellie worked for fifteen years as an assembler at RCA, retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Mooresville Free Methodist Church.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Robert Steenbergen in 1977; husband, William David Bailey in 2004; brother, Roy Beckham; sisters, Myrtle Holman, Ruth Moore, Christine Hawks, and Lois Harmon.

Survivors include her sons, Danny Steenbergen of Greenwood, and Larry Steenbergen of Mooresville; step children, Bryan Bailey of Indianapolis, Bradley Bailey of Greenwood, and Beth Ann Kelley of Indianapolis; 6 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and many step grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, July 22, 2011, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, July 21, 2011. Dr. R. Michael Baldock will officiate. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity in memory of Nellie.
