Paul James Allison

Paul James Allison, 80, of Mooresville, died at home on June 25, 2012. He was born on November 12, 1931 to Cleo and Leona (Wilhite) Allison in Indianapolis.

Paul attended Monrovia High School. He joined the United States Air Force in 1951 and served for 4 years. Paul married Loretta Selch on May 8, 1952, recently celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. They were blessed with 4 children. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Hall. Paul was an automotive mechanic, owning and operating the Hall Garage, and was a Monroe/Gregg school bus driver. Most recently, he was a driver for Yellow Freight and a member of the Teamsters Union, retiring in 1988. Paul enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, vacationing, and spending winters in Florida. He also enjoyed taking his family out for Sunday dinners and gardening.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Judy Rose.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Loretta Allison; children, Sondra Smith of Arcadia, David (Patricia) Allison of Mooresville, Peggy (James) White of Pennsylvania, and Melanie (Brian) Corya of Mooresville; sister, Irene Rush of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Amber Smith, Ashley Allison, Erin Allison, Amy (Doug) Powlen, Christopher White, Alvin White III, James White III, Chantel Stamper, Cameron Stamper, Jacob Corya, and Jacynda Corya; and a great grandchild, Samuel Powlen.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Services will be held at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior on Friday, June 29, 2012, at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church of Hall, 5830 W. Hurt Road, Monrovia, IN 46157. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery of Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
