Richard Glenn Koker

Born May 6, 1948. Passed away March 20, 2012. Son of James and Madeline (Dye) Koker, deceased. He is survived by his wife Billie (Bingham) Koker (married May 13,1978), daughter Megan Koker, Brother Gary N (Butch) Koker, sister Patricia (Harold) Stone. He is preceded in death by his brother John Wayne, sister Linda Lee (Dennis) Elmore, and twin sister Victoria Lynn. Uncle of 15, Great Uncle of 18 and a Great Great Uncle of 6.

Richard attended High School at Ben Davis (graduated from Morgantown in 1966). He was a Sergeant in the USAF and Vietnam Veteran. He is a Past Master of Lynhurst 723 F. & A.M. Lodge. The Indiana Amateur Softball Association inducted Richard into the Hall of Fame in 1986. He also retired from the USPS and was a proud member of VFW Post 2839.

Richard received a Liver Transplant on Christmas Day 2008. He would like to thank the transplant team of IU Hospital for the excellent care he received.

There will be no service or viewing per Richard’s request. Friends and family will gather to share memories on Saturday March 24th from 1 to 4pm at Plainfield First Assembly of God, 620 N. Carr Road, Plainfield Indiana. Donations may be sent to Indianapolis Organ Procurement Organization or American Diabetes Association. The family requests no flowers.
