Robert Dean Wagoner

August 29, 1926 — December 29, 2013

Robert Dean Wagoner, 87, of Martinsville died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at his home. He was born August 29, 1926 in Litchfield, Illinois to the late Charles and Elana Wagoner.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Lee Wagoner.
Robert graduated from Shortridge High School in 1944 then enlisted in the Army to serve during WWII where he was stationed in the Philippines. After returning from WWII he served in the National Guard for several years. During his military service Robert received a Purple Heart for his courageous service and a Distinguished Unit Citation and a Silver Star. Robert provided for his family by working as a milk man for Roberts and Borden Dairy for over 35 years. He and his wife were long time members of St. Johns United Church of Christ, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of American Legion Post 500.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marjorie Ann Wagoner; three sons, Keith ( Debbie) of Martinsville, Kevin of Brownsburg and Kerry ( Pamela )of Zionsville; a nephew, Jeffery of Poland, IN; seven grandchildren, Kelsey, Kyle, Katelin , Kasey , Shannon, Kaleb and Josiah ; one great grandchild, Silas .

Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Friday January 3, 2014 at Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Donald Crisman conducting services. Interment to follow at White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Visitation will be held from 4PM until 8PM on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association.
