Robert "Mike" Armstrong

Robert “Mike” Armstrong, 69, Mooresville, passed away June 4, 2016. Mike was born March 6, 1947, in Indianapolis, to the late Robert Eugene Armstrong and Shirley (Rothwell) Armstrong, who survives.

He graduated from Mooresville High School in 1965 and worked for a period of time for the Continental Baking Company. More recently, Mike performed various types of vocational work. He was a member of the Mooresville Friends Church. Additionally, he enjoyed watching golf, game shows, and Rambo & Rocky movies. He also enjoyed playing board games and cards. An Elvis enthusiast, he also liked to listen to country music. Mike’s memory will be cherished by a loving and devoted family.

Survivors include his mother, Shirley Armstrong of Mooresville; one daughter, Dana Ledgerwood (Gordon) of Mooresville; sister, Tammy Armstrong of Mooresville; grandchildren, Heather and Taylor Uhls, Jennifer Lake, and Kim Ledgerwood; great grandchild, Tinley Uhls-Becker, Bryson and Madison Lake; nephew, Jeremy Smith; niece, Cory Schultz (Aaron); great nephew, Ethan Schultz.

The family is most grateful to the many nurses and caregivers who assisted with Mike’s care during the past few years.

Friends and family will gather on Thursday, June 9, 2016, 1 to 3 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Pastor Sue Whitesel will officiate the 3 p.m. funeral service, and burial will be in the Mooresville Cemetery.
