Ronald E. “George” Lewis, 57 of Mooresville, passed away April 2, 2016 at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis. He was born April 10, 1958 in Vandalia, IL to the late Floyd D. and Marlene (Abendroth) Lewis.
George was a truck driver for many years; most recently, he drove for Yellow Freight before his failing health forced him to retire early. He enjoyed anything outdoors including, fishing, mushroom hunting, and gardening. A loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, George enjoyed having a good a good time with his closest friends.
Along with his parents, George was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Dale Lewis and his sister, Lisa Diane Lewis.
Survivors include his two daughters, Kasey J. (James) Toler of Scottsville, Kentucky and Shauna Knapp of Middletown; son, Ricky Knapp of Bloomington; brother, Randy (Jill) Lewis of Farmersburg; two sisters, Lila M. (Vern Perdew) Maddox of Plainfield and Linda M. Moore of Little Point; three grandchildren, Malachi Vanrensselaer of Fillmore, Justin Parsons of Greencastle and Wyatt Culbertson of Monrovia and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Saturday, April 9 from Noon until 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. Rev.
