Ronald T. Hastings

Ronald T. Hastings, 72, Mooresville, died November 6, 2014, in Meadow Lakes, Mooresville. Ron was born August 5, 1942, in Milan, Indiana, to the late Baron Theo and Ruberta (Gulley) Hastings.

The family relocated to Mooresville in 1957. He graduated from Mooresville High School in 1961 where he played basketball, football, and ran track. Following schooling in the tool & die industry, he worked for Hulskamp Saw Works for several years. He was then employed at the Allison Division of General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Church at Mt. Gilead and previously a member of Pleasant Ridge Christian Church in Rising Sun. Ron was known for a tremendous sense of humor, his love for hunting and fishing, but most importantly for his love and devotion to his family.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Park) Hastings, to whom he was united in marriage February 17, 1964; son Greg Hastings (Tammy) of Cloverdale; daughter, Deb Henderson (Rob) of Plainfield; sister, Bonita Davis (Ken) of Mooresville; four grandchildren, Cameron and Heather Hastings; Justin and Jordan Nuckols.

Friends and family will gather Monday, November 10, 2014, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Church at Mt. Gilead, 6019 E. State Rd. 144, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2014, in the church. Pastors Jeff Faull and Terry Crist will officiate. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Parkinson Awareness Foundation.
