Sylvia "Audrey" Callahan

Sylvia “Audrey” Callahan, 74, Mooresville, died May 31, 2011. She was born November 3, 1936, in Ruddington Nottm. England, to the late James and Nellie Buttery.

After finishing school in England, Audrey married Jack D. Callahan at the age of nineteen. She worked and managed the Mooresville High School Cafeteria for 34 years. Audrey was a member of the Mooresville American Legion #103 and the T.B.P.A. She enjoyed collecting, making ceramics, knitting, and gardening. She loved decorating for Christmas and enjoyed dancing.

Survivors include her husband, Jack D. Callahan of Mooresville; children, Jim Callahan (Lisa) of Mooresville, Mavis Callahan Rose of Mooresville, Avril Callahan Fisher of Greenwood; sisters, Mavis Minns (Lester) of Capel-Curig, North Wales, Judy Grande of Ruddington Nottm. England; grandchildren, Timothy James Bush, Lindsey Rose, Brian Bush, Aidan Callahan, Cordelia Callahan; great grandchildren, Blake Pruett, Benjamin Bush.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011, at 7 p.m., in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling prior from 5 to 7 p.m. Cremation will take place at the Morgan County Crematory.
