Velma J. Fisher

Velma J. (Edwards) Fisher, 89, of Martinsville, passed away October 10, 2018. She was born December 23, 1928, in Plainfield, to the late Arthur and Lucile (Bayliss) Edwards.

Velma was a proud homemaker to her loving family. She also co-owned New Horizon Travel Agency with her loving husband Robert Gene Fisher, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Fisher was a member at the Good Shepard Baptist Church and a long time Sunday school teacher. Her sweet and nurturing demeanor will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

Velma is also preceded in death by her son, Robert Fisher; a grandchild, Holli Hutson; and siblings, William Ray Edwards, Sr., Kathleen Rupe, Eileen Stewart, Charleen Daum.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel Fisher, Sr. and Richard (Deb) Fisher; grandchildren, Daniel Fisher II, Sally (Robb) Summitt, Amanda (Tommy) Saxon, Grant (Cassie) Fisher, and Cody Fisher; and 5 Great Grandchildren.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Velma Fisher on Monday, October 15, 2018, 9 to 11:30 a.m., at the Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Cartersburg, Indiana.
