Bill M. “Fergie” Ferguson

77, of Monrovia, passed away on May 30, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Mooresville. Bill was born on June 5, 1945, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to the late Marvin Ferguson and Betty (Sage) Ferguson.

Bill proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star for his heroism. Upon returning home, Bill worked for Allison Transmission for 30 years. However, farming and being a cowboy was Bill’s passion. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, riding horses, driving his John Deere tractor, and raising his pet Buffalo, “Mo”. He was a 50-year member of the Monrovia Masonic Lodge #654, the Murat Shrine, and the V.F.W. Post #1111. He will be remembered for his love of his family, spending time with his grandkids, and enjoying the finer things in life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian Ferguson, and his sisters Pam and Cindy.

He is survived by his wife, Jan (Couch) Ferguson; daughter Joni (Carey) Cannon; brothers Ted Ferguson, Harry Ferguson; grandchildren Kahlie, Kegan, Cody, Olivia, Cassie, Kialani; great grandchildren Ezra, Stevie, and Hayden.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Bill’s life on Monday, June 5th from 4-8pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 6th at 11:30am in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, IN.
