Carol “Sue” Hammons, 74 of Mooresville, passed away in the comfort of her home on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. One of eight children, she was born June 22, 1941 in Terre Haute to the late Rollin V. and Wilhelmina M. (Wiekhorst) Jenkins. On May 26, 1963 Sue was united in marriage to her loving husband, Donald P. Hammons; he preceded her in death in January 2015.
Sue was a long time member of Five Points Baptist Church. She was self-employed as seamstress and was known to be quite talented as a doll maker. Sue enjoyed selling and showing off her dolls at various doll shows. Most importantly, she was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
Survivors include her daughter, Anita (Randy) Pope of Plainfield; her granddaughter, Sara Davis of Plainfield and her best fur friend, Casey.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, April 1 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 2 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
