Clara Claudine Allison

July 12, 1939 — September 8, 2021

Clara Claudine (Eppen) Allison, 82, Camby, passed away September 8, 2021. Claudine was born July 12, 1939, in Indianapolis, to the late Herman Franklin and Lena Mildred (Jacobs) Eppen.

She graduated from Speedway High School in 1957 and attended Indiana University where she was part of the Indiana University marching band as a majorette. She married the love of her life, George Thomas Allison on December 21, 1958. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother.

Claudine was a creative, talented artist and she began a local business out of her home and in the town of Mooresville owning and operating the Come to Me Shop. She was a floral designer and coordinated weddings and special events. She later worked in retail management at Casual Corner, Petite Sophisticates and August Max.

She was a longtime and faithful member of the First Christian Church of Mooresville, and she and her husband were awarded the Grandma Bucker Award in 2011. More recently she was a member of Camby Community Church. She held positions of service within her church, taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and attended Bible Study Fellowship for as long as she could. She also sang in the church choir up until her stroke 11 years ago. Claudine was a caregiver to her family members and friends, a devoted, fun-loving grandma and in her youngest granddaughter's words a moral compass.

She was an excellent seamstress and taught her daughters and granddaughters to sew. She also took on a sewing project at age 78 with her daughter Debbie to make dresses for young girls in Haiti.

She was a member of the Indy branch of Tole Painters Organization for more than 50 years and shared her love of painting and artwork with her family and grandchildren.

She was an avid gardener, bird watcher, and lover of all animals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Allison; her sister, Sandra Louise (Eppen) Thurston; a son, Timothy Alan Allison; and a granddaughter, Sarah Grace Allison.

Survivors include her children, Richard Thomas (Laurie) Allison, Deborah Jane (Jim) Bagley, Mark Alan (Susan) Allison, and Melissa Ann (Jason) Petrovich; brother, Stanley Howard (Julia) Eppen; grandchildren, Lesa Marie Allison, Scott Thomas Allison, Molly Elizabeth Allison, Nicholas Andrew Allison, Rachel Katherine Bagley, Alison Shea Bagley, Kyra Elizabeth Allison, and Samuel Alan Allison.
