Craig Allen “Whimpy” Smith
54, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 21, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel. Craig was born on August 10, 1967 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Alfred Vernon and Gwendolyn (Bade) Smith.
Craig grew up on Indianapolis’ Westside, where he was known as “Whimpy”, graduating from Northwest High School. Whimpy worked as a bar manager for Claude & Annie’s in Speedway and ran the Indy West Pool League. Most recently, he worked in customer service for Chapman Electric Supply.
Craig met his wife, Leslie while working Bingo at the Mooresville Eagles. They married in Chapel Rock Christian Church and were married for over 8 years. Craig was a faithfully devoted follower of Jesus Christ and has gone home to a joyous celebration with his Father and his Lord & Savior. He enjoyed serving others and riding his motorcycle. He combined his two passions as he often helped organize charity motorcycle rides for S.O.C.S (So Others Can Survive) to help those who are homeless.
He is survived by his wife Leslie (Allsup) Smith; brothers Keith Smith, Kent (Sandie) Smith, Bruce (Dee) Smith; his faithful Pit Pull companion Lucy Lou, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Family and friends will gather for Craig’s Life Celebration™ visitation on Wednesday, December 1st from 4-8pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with services Thursday, December 2nd at 11am in the funeral home.
