Deborah Ann Bailey

December 24, 1962 — March 30, 2024

Mooresville

Deborah Ann Bailey, affectionately known as "Debbie," passed away unexpectedly in her home on Saturday, March 30, 2024. She was born on December 24, 1962, in Canton, Ohio to the late Robert Roland Edwards and Nancy Ann (Caughman) Edwards.  She leaves behind a legacy filled with love, kindness, and cherished memories.

She graduated from Minerva High School in 1981 in Minerva, Ohio, before earning a bachelor's degree in teaching. Her passion for education mirrored her lifelong commitment to learning and growing. Debbie had a passion for enriching the lives of others, which she demonstrated through her career as the Activity Director at Northwest Rehab Facility in Indianapolis. Her warm and caring nature touched the hearts of many.  A devoted Christian, she was a member of the Brooklyn Church of God where she was active in the hospitality and music ministries.

Debbie's love for her family knew no bounds. She adored her husband who she met while attending Gulf Coast Bible College in Houston Texas, Jerry Richard Bailey.  Debbie and Jerry married on July 15, 1988. They had one child, a son, Matthew.  Family meant everything to Debbie, and her unwavering love and support will continue to live on in their hearts.

One of Debbie's greatest joys in life was her fondness for Elvis Presley and collecting Elvis memorabilia. Her enthusiasm for Elvis's music brought light and joy into her life, further showcasing her vibrant personality. Being a professional clown, she brought joy, smiles, and laughs to many.  Additionally, she appreciated and enjoyed the beauty of classic cars.  She also collected stuffed animals and loved buying clothes and toys for her grandson, Jonah, who was her pride and joy and the apple of her eye.  Above all, she enjoyed the time spent with family and especially enjoyed the holidays and family meals. Debbie found joy in the little things in life and shared that joy with those around her.

Known for being kind-hearted, generous, and always ready to assist those in need, Debbie's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her contagious laughter and positive spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. She is survived by her loving family and friends including her husband, Jerry Bailey of Mooresville; son, Matthew (wife, Hannah) Bailey of Plainfield; and grandson, Jonah Bailey.
