Earl C. “Mike” McKinney
79 of Mooresville, passed away on January 6, 2022, at St Francis Hospital in Mooresville. Mike was born on September 20, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Donald McKinney and Hattie (Bell) McKinney.

Mike retired from the railroad after 30 years of service with Conrail and was a faithful member of the Graceway Fellowship Church. He enjoyed fishing, tending to his vegetable garden, playing poker, and having coffee with his railroad buddies and watching Pro Wrestling from Dick the Bruiser to Bobby Heenan to the present-day WWE Stars. He also enjoyed listening to Gospel as well as country music. He was affectionately known as “Lawn Mower Mike” throughout the Mooresville community as he enjoyed helping others by fixing their lawn mowers. He will be missed by a loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Wanda McKinney, son Michael Ray McKinney and his wife, Patricia McKinney.

He is survived by his children, Leslie Mitchell (Rick) of Martinsville, Jeff Frazier (Valerie) of Cope, Chris Frazier (Denise) of Indianapolis, Larry McKinney (Stefanie) of Clayton; brothers Richard McKinney (Marie), Donnie McKinney (Marion); sister Donna Neal; sister in law, Linda Batcher (Joe); ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Mike’s life on Thursday, January 13th from 11am-1pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with services beginning at 1pm Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Tim Roller, officiating. Entombment will follow the services in the Benjamin Franklin Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
