Harriette "Ginger" Caine

May 4, 1943 — June 27, 2020

Harriette Jeanine Caine (Ginger), age 77 of Mooresville Indiana passed away on June 27, 2020 peacefully at home with her daughters around her. Ginger was proceeded in her death by her late husband William Douglas Caine. The daughter of the late Mary Noble Sanders, Marion Sanders and Robert Kepner was born on May 4, 1943 in Beech Grove Indiana. She is survived by her three daughters Sandy Caine Corbin (Bob), Debbie Caine, and Michelle Caine Mendenhall. Grandchildren are Michael Gray, Devin Gray, Thomas Wright, Jordan Corbin, Anthony Mendenhall, Christopher Mendenhall and Sarah Corbin. Great grandchildren are Shailyn Parker, Colton Starling, Caine Wright, Penelope Gray and Ezra Gray and her brother David Joseph Sanders.

Ginger graduated from Southport High School and married her high school sweetheart Douglas on September 9, 1961. They remained married for 38 years until his death in 1998. Their life started together in Germany on the army base as well as the start of their family. The majority of their life together was lived in Mooresville. Ginger as very active in her community. She attended the United Methodist Church, coached girls softball, was an active Girl Scout leader who loved sewing, gardening and boating. Ginger worked at Citizens Gas, Kendrick’s Hospital, AT&T and Lowes in Mooresville. Ginger was also the co-owner with Doug for the family business of swimming pools for many years. She started her own Red Haters Chapter in Mooresville, became a foster parent and was always a homemaker, wife and mother before all else. Ginger’s smile and loving attitude towards everyone she knew and met will be missed dearly.

The family is planning a private celebration of life ceremony. Ginger will be laid to rest next to her husband at The White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville Indiana.
