James E. “Jody” Addair

68 of Camby, passed away on January 9, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Jody was born on March 26, 1953 in Iaeger, West Virginia to the late J.C. Addair and Jean Dawn (Lockhart) Addair.

Jody’s family moved to Indiana when he was a young man in search of better opportunities. He was a graduate of Mooresville High School and retired from Diamond Chain as a tool & die machinist and troubleshooter after 32 years of service. A private man, who was strong in his faith and never forgot his humble beginnings, Jody worked tirelessly as a missionary in the Appalachian Mountain valleys to help those in need. He built a church, opened a food pantry, and clothed those in need in War Eagle Valley, West Virginia. He also helped build New Hope Church in Mooresville, volunteered with Under the Bridge Ministry and spread the Gospel by sending Bibles to the Philippines. He was an associate pastor at New Hope and a long-time member of the West Newton Full Gospel Tabernacle. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, golfing, automotive paint, and body and restoring old cars. He will be missed by a loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister Dreama Diane Addair.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Spears) Addair; children Tad Collins, Jody (Chris) Addair, Quentin (Kelly) Addair; brothers Aaron Addair, Cody Addair; sister Vicki Dawson; grandchildren Shandra, Ashley, Shaylynn, Brandyn, Averi, Andrew, Brooke, Trey, Taylor, Brianna, Brooke; 15 great grandchildren and his beloved dog Dasha.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Jody’s life on Monday, January 17th from 11am-1pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with services beginning at 1pm Monday in the funeral home. Angie Mills Addair, Jody's cousin, will officiate. Burial will follow the services in White Lick Cemetery.
