Linda L. Crist

Linda L. Crist, 83, Mooresville, passed away November 10, 2021, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Linda was born January 13, 1938, in Mattoon, Illinois, to the late Dale and Marjorie L. (LaMasters) Wines.

Linda was employed as the executive secretary for Hubler Chevrolet for 34 years, retiring in 2000. She had been a member of Greenwood Christian Church. When her children were involved in band at Mooresville High School, she too was very involved as past president, making uniforms, making and selling hundreds of elephant ears at Old Settlers. You name it, Linda did it for the band. She was an accomplished quilter and seamstress. Above all, Linda was strongly devoted to her family. She simply adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Linda’s memory will be forever cherished by her loving family and many friends.

She married Richard N. “Red” Crist on November 17, 1957, and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2021, along with one daughter, Cynthia Crist-Jennings.

Survivors include her son, Timothy (Sherry) Crist; daughter, Sherri (Phillip) Tapp; brother, Dale Wines; sister, Vicki Gibson; grandchildren, Lindsay Mitchell, Katie Acheampong, Kelli Nelson, Eliot Jennings, Alexa Epler, Alivia Crist; great grandchildren, Reid, Perrey, Molly, Alec, Bryce Charles, Asher, and Brenya.

Visitation will not be observed. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, 11 a.m., at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, to remember the lives of Richard and Linda Crist.
