Melony A. Doty

Heaven got much sweeter as Melony A. Doty, 77, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 9, 2022, in Mooresville, Indiana. Born on March 7, 1945, to Thomas and Flora Doty in Indianapolis, Indiana, Melony has been a proud Hoosier for her entire life.

A graduate of Manual High School in Indianapolis, Melony was a custodian for Perry Township School system and Parc-Way Assembly of God for many, many years. More than that, though, she was a housemother for emotionally disturbed children for many years as well. She has impacted many young lives throughout her life and was known as “grandma” to many of the children that she cared for and loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Timothy S. Doty.

She is survived in life by her cousin, Matrona Hendrickson and her family, as well as the many, many children and young people that loved her and called her “grandma.”

Melony was a long time member of Soul’s Harbor Assembly of God. A celebration of life will be held there on October 1st, 2022 at 10:30 am, located at 8434 East State Road 267, Plainfield, Indiana.
