Rebecca S. “Becky” McGlauchlen, 71, Brooklyn, passed away October 22, 2021. Becky was born November 18, 1949, in Indianapolis, to the late Austin and Lois (Wilson) Wratten. She married Tom McGlauchlen on November 1, 1968, and he survives.
Becky graduated from Martinsville High School in 1968 and continued her education at the University of Indianapolis, where she studied accounting. She worked in the accounting department at Citizens Bank for 20 years before becoming the Clerk/Treasurer for the Town of Brooklyn for 12 years. Becky was a natural with numbers – she was a member of various organizations and helped with the finances at the Brooklyn Christian Church, Mooresville VFW Post 1111 Auxiliary, and the Mooresville American Legion Post 103 Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Plainfield Eagles. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, and reading. Becky loved to travel, and she and Tom traveled extensively through the years. She will be fondly remembered by a loving family and many friends.
Survivors include her husband 52 years, Tom McGlauchlen; daughter, Brenda (Chris) Coffey; grandchildren, Mason and Alex Coffey; a large extended family consisting of many McGlauchlens, the Brooklyn Fire Department and the Brooklyn Christian Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 26, 2021, 2 to 4 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Cremation will follow services, and the inurnment will take place at the Brooklyn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brooklyn Christian Church or to the VFW Post 1111 Auxiliary.
