Reed Alexander Dickson

Reed Alexander Dickson, son of Christopher Bruce Dickson and Kassidie Lee (Diekhoff) Dickson, left this earthly life all too soon on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.  He was born just five days prior on May 13, 2024.  Reed was born three months earlier than he was expected.  While small, he was mighty.  He fought and was making remarkable progress before suddenly passing on Saturday. 

Reed’s time on earth was far too short, but his impact is and will be profound.  He brought his parents and others so much joy in his short five days.  Providing them with immeasurable hope.  Ultimately, maybe, Reed was just too good for this sometimes cruel world.  

The passing of this precious little soul leaves many saddened including his parents, Chris and Kassidie Dickson of Camby; maternal grandparents, Rob and Teresa Diekhoff of Westport; paternal grandparents, Don and Michelle Dickson of Westport; great grandmother, Kenna Ray Gillham of Columbus; aunts and uncles, Delanie (husband, Walker) Gabbard of Westport, Cody Diekhoff (significant other, Emma Tunny) of Westport, and Courtney (husband, Trey) Shipley of Hope; and cousins, Camreigh, Amiyah, Joshua, and Jacob.

Reed was greeted by his loved ones in Heaven including his aunt, Makenzie Diekhoff.

Many likely do not know that Honu is Hawaiian for the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle. This beautiful creature represents resilience and wisdom.  Reed’s mother and father love sea turtles and will deeply miss their little “Honu”, Reed, until they meet again.   

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, May 23^rd from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville.  The family will speak at a short service honoring Reed, beginning at 12:00 noon.  Reed’s earthly remains have been cremated.
