Richard Beer

Richard Beer, 67, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Life’s Journey of Avon.  He was born on October 4, 1955 in Shelby, OH to Dick and Lucille Beer, the youngest of four siblings.  He graduated from Morehead State University and received a Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University.  On December 2, 1978 he married Elaine Arnold.  

Rich was an environmental engineer at coal-fired power plants most of this life.  Fiercely independent, Rich and Elaine built their own home in Pennsylvania prior to moving to Indiana.  

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Elaine; sons Zachary (Katherine) and Douglas (Ada) Beer; sisters Linda (Bob) Eyerly, Kathy (Doug) Lampert, and Rita (Jim) Myers;  grandchildren Jacob, Arielle, and Vesper; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.   

A celebration of life will be held on October 8, 2023 at Friendship Gardens Park in Plainfield.  Rich will be cremated and his ashes spread in a local outdoor area.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rich’s name to Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Final arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
