Robert “Bob” Long Sr., 75, passed away on January 16, 2023, after a brief illness. Bob was born in Shepherdsville, Kentucky on April 12, 1947, to the late Steve & Mary Lou Long. Bob was a truck driver for Superior Oil for most of his career until his retirement in 2013. Bob married the love of his life, Regina, on April 27, 1965. He was a long-time member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Mooresville and loved driving the church bus. Bob loved deer hunting, woodworking, and cars. He attended many car shows and loved showing his own cars as well. Bob was an avid gun & knife collector and enjoyed woodworking. He was always very involved with his son’s activities growing up and loved to travel with his wife, Regina.
Bob is survived by his loving wife; Regina (Kent) Long, sons; Robert (Shelley) Long Jr., Richard (Amy) Long, and Ronald (Cynthia Woodard) Long, grandchildren; Curtis (Nicole) Long, Bobby (Joanna) Long, Colton Long, Timothy (Katlyn) Long, Cody Long, Quinton Long, Faith Long, Garrett Long, Shelby (Aaron) O’Farrell, Kaegan (Alex Parsons) Hadley, great-grandchildren; Harper, Renly, Titan, Grace, Kennedy, Scarlett, Ruby, Riley, and Emma, along with brothers; Ivan (Jeannie) Long and Buddy Long.
Bob is preceded in death by his siblings; David Long, Steve Long, Kenny Long, Billy Long, Carey Palmer, and James Palmer, and his sister; DeeDee Allen.
Bob’s Life Celebration® visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Mooresville, Indiana from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be on Saturday at 12:00 pm, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Mitchell City Cemetery immediately following.
